ACCREDITATION STANDARDS
Idaho Code 33-203(9)
A student may be homeschooled in Idaho by a parent or guardian. No applications, registration or reporting is necessary by Idaho state law. If a student chooses, they may enroll in the public school for dual enrollment purposes. Dual enrollment will allow the student to participate in public school classes and extracurricular activities in the public school that are avaialbale to public school students. The student must comply with the same rules and regulations as other students in order to qualify for dual enrollment.

Curriculum and instruction for homeschooled students must be comparable to students within Idaho public schools during the compulsory attendance ages of seven through sixteen. The Idaho State Board of Education's Administrative Rules mandate education in Language Arts and Communication, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. The parent/guardian conducting homeschool has the responsibility to set the schedule for instruction. Idaho state law requires 450 hours per year in Kindergarten, eight hundred and ten hours per year for grades one through three and nine hundred hours per year for grades four through eight.
