Understanding School Structure

When deciding to take the leap into the realm of nontraditional private education you must first decide which method of education best suits your needs and desires. The three forms of educational facilities which will be discussed in great detail are as follows; homeschooling, boarding schools and day schools.

SCHOOL STRUCTURE

HOME SCHOOL

As used in this resource, the term homeschooling includes all schooling which occurs outside of the public and private school environment. Homeschool may also be referred to as elective home education (EHE).

RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL

As used in this resource, the term residential schools, also known as boarding schools, are private schools that students live at during the school year.

DAY SCHOOL

As used in this resource, day schools include all private and public schools that provide educational instruction during the day and students return to their homes each night.
