FACILITIES

Montana Code 52-2-802, Section 9 & 10

All applicants for a license as well as every licensee must provide the Montana department of public health and human services with the right to enter and inspect at any time. The department or an authorized representative will make periodic visits to licensed programs in order to ensure that all minimum standards are maintained. Any conditions and qualifications of a program may be investigated and inspected by the department. Onsite inspections will be conducted by the department in the following cases: any program appying for a license, any licensed program at least once every three ears and upon request by the department.

The administration and personnel requirements for residential schools in Montana are consistent with the Montana state private school requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

Montana Code 52-2-802, Section 4

Any person, group of persons, or corporation seeking to establish a private alternative adolescent residential or outdoor program must be liscenced by the Montana department of public health and human services. The liscence may be in effect for up to three years. A program may only be liscenced if the program has not received notice of any deficiencies on liscensing criteria and implementation guidelines. The department of public health and human services may issue a provisional liscence that can last for up to six months. A provisional liscence may only be provided if the program does not meet all standards yet demonstrates that they are attempting to meet all standards.
