The school district in which the residential school is located is responsible for the purchase lease or rental and provision of all instructional materials deemed necessary for the program of education as well as the development and implementation of curriculum in consultation with the superintendent or chief administrator of the residential school.

The department of social and health services in consultation with the superintendent or chief administrator of a residential school is responsible for the provision of a safe and healthy building and playground space for the conduction of education as well as heat, lights, telephones, janitorial services, repair services and other support services.
